Hi Nick, great question!

No. 3 should be done during the partitioning step of the Linux installation process.
No. 4 is applied after installation, during the first boot.
No. 5 is optional and can be done at any time if needed.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions.

How and when to apply Nos 3, 4 and 5?
During the Linux installation or Separately before the beginning of installation?
Thank you very much again,
Nick

@Nick,

Thank you for your kind words! Let’s resolve the issue:

1. Create a root (`/`) partition with at least 20GB (ext4 format). Optionally, add a swap and home partition.
2. Use “Something Else” in the installer to delete and recreate partitions.
3. Match the BIOS mode with the installer. For UEFI, ensure a 300MB EFI partition (FAT32).
4. Turn off Secure Boot and Fast Boot in the BIOS.
5. Boot into the live session and use GParted to manually partition if needed.

If the issue persists, please share the exact error message, and I’ll assist further.

Good luck!
